Dopo aver ricevuto una telefonata di un’amica che mi aveva raccontato di aver passato una parte delle sue vacanze a New York e di aver passeggiato a lungo sulla High Line ho pensato che il viaggio, spesso, non è questione di mete e di distanze.

Kerouac, siglando la cultura “on the road”, ha rappresentato il viaggiatore come un movimento dell’anima: spostarsi, anche all’interno di se stessi, per aprirsi a diverse conoscenze, o forse semplicemente per recuperare frammenti assopiti di vecchie vite, sui quali fondare nuove visioni.

Quindi, ho deciso di passeggiare anch’io lungo la High Line e di scattare qualche foto.

Google Maps mi ha catapultato immediata sulla 22° Strada nel West Village e quando sono arrivato mi sono reso conto però che non ero solo.

Una ragazza aveva avuto la mia stessa idea: fotografare lungo la High Line… e dai lei sono partito…

Walking along the High Line

After receiving a call from a friend who told me that he spent part of his vacation in New York and having walked a long time on the High Line I thought the trip, often, is not a matter of destinations and distances.

Kerouac, signing the culture “on the road”, represented the traveler as a movement of the soul to move, even within themselves, to be open to different kinds of knowledge, or perhaps simply to recover fragments of old dormant vines, which to base new visions.

So, I decided to walk myself along the High Line and take some pictures.

Google Maps catapulted me immediately on 22 th Street in the West Village and when I arrived I realized though that I was not alone.

A girl had had the same idea: to photograph along the High Line … and her party are …
